Checking numbers when told not to and disregarding amount of text changes
Firstly thank you for this service, it has saved me lots of time and is very handy.
It seems like U/S 3.0.2 is notifying me when numbers are changed on a website when I've checked the box to not. Also, I've set the max threshold to 100 characters but when only 7 characters are changed, it triggers U/S (unless there might be 100 invisible html coding text that's changing without me knowing).
Perhaps an option can be a added in the future that has the option to ignore certain areas or elements of a webpage by entering the relevant html of the section to be ignored.

1) Are you sure that only those characters have changed? Has any text been deleted? Although deletions are not highlighted, they will still trigger a notification.
2) The nitrome website uses flash to display the text, which can't be read by Update Scanner.

Yes, text has been deleted so I guess that this isn't a bug; sorry for misunderstanding. It would be nice if there could be an option that only checks for characters changed rather than removed but I don't know how this might be done.

Thanks for giving me Update Scanner, but I have switched to SiteDelta (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4337).
It has far more options than U/S including the features I have suggested! (Including ignoring elements, doesn't notify on text removals, etc.)

me too. I thought I was the only one. I usually go to a torrent site to check the latest magazine uploaded, and while the list of torrent is the same the numbers are different... and these numbers have changed more than 100 characters... which is picked by Update Scanner even if I put in the setting: "ignore numbers". I am pretty sure nothing was removed from the site because I check with the scanner quite often that site.
This bug has been going for quite a while in my case... like months.

I've been monitoring that page for a while, and not seen anything strange. Note that the date at the top of the page changes every day.
All:
If you think you are seeing a problem with this, you can check for changes yourself:
1. Click the "Old Page" link in the update scanner header
2. Right-click on the main page and select "This Frame -> Save Frame As", and choose a name
3. Do the same for the "New Page" link
4. Compare the files with a diff tool (eg. WinDiff)
If you still think you see a problem, you can email me these files (updatescan@gmail.com). Please mention the URL of the page, and your update scanner properties for that page.

Compared the 'Old Page' & 'Changes' and they match..yet I still get notified of number changes.

Edit: This doesn't happen every single time a number changes; just randomly and infrequently. Also that tisali forums link I posted hasn't done that for a while now.

Please try the 4 steps mentioned above - this will show you exactly what has changed, and help work out why a change has been signalled.

Is it possible that the page changed for a while and then changed back to what it was originally?
In that case updatescanner might detect the change, but then when you view it no change would be visible, since the page changed back to its original state.
