Updatescanner can't read inside pdf files - it only works with HTML.
I'm not sure if it will work reliably, but here's one way of converting PDF to HTML online:
1) Search for the pdf in google
2) Click the "View" link on the second line of the search result
3) Click the "Plain HTML" link at the top of the page
4) Add this page to Update Scanner.
