My list of scanned sites gets synced to all my computers along with my other bookmarks, but their scanned status does not. I end up having to check each update on each computer in order to stay current.
Each computer keeps a copies of the contents of each webpage, and uses those copies for comparison during scanning. Foxmarks doesn't sync these copies between computers, only the list of bookmarked sites.
This means changes will be highlighted and notified separately on each computer.
My list of scanned sites has pages for which I need to insert a password, and for those I adjust settings to "Auto verification: never (verify only at request)" or something like that (my version is in Brazilian Portuguese, so I don't know the exact words).
When Xmarks (Foxmarks) sync these page, it goes to the other computer with the standard settings (verify once in a day).
At the other computer, when checking updates, it will produce errors. I'd like to Update Scanner keep the settings.
A workaround would be this: every bookmark has the link and three more informations (name, folder and "marcadores", I don't know in English). This "marcadores" is rarely used, so it may have informations like:
"Update Scanner, don't change it, 6h, 1, 100, auto" (the first would be a "marcador" itself, the second a remember so the user would not change, then "verify each 6 hours", "ignore numeric changes", "changes with less than 100 characters will be ignored" and "detect auto")
or "Update Scanner, don't change it, 0, 0, 10, UTF-8" (the first would be a "marcador" itself, the second a remember so the user would not change, then "verify only at request", "don't ignore numeric changes", "changes with less than 10 characters will be ignored" and "use UTF-8 char")
If I understand you correctly, this is exactly what is done at the moment. Each bookmark can have "annotations", which updatescanner uses to store the properties of that bookmark (how often to scan, etc).
Annotations are a standard method for attaching small amounts of data to firefox bookmarks.
Unfortunately Xmarks doesn't support syncing these annotations, so when you add a new bookmark on one computer, you must manually update the properties on the other computer.
I would recommend asking Xmarks to add Annotation syncing support.
